Sharing knowledge of trees, why we need them to live, and how to care for them.
The idea for NJ Tree Academy was thought of when Taylor was asked to create a plant course for a local adult school. After polling the local public, he learned that people wanted to learn more about tree identification, however there was no class specifically marketed towards the garden hobbyist. Identification classes are mostly offered by local cooperative extension offices, however they are often filled with industry professionals in need of Continuing Education Credits. The environment can be intimidating for hobbyists that are surrounded in a course with people that work full time in the industry. New Jersey Tree Academy was designed for hobbyists to get outside and learn with other garden hobbyists. After teaching the sold out course for 3 years at the local adult school, New Jersey Tree Academy was born.
In our "What's That Tree?" New Jersey Tree Academy 2 day course, participants will learn to identify 50 Trees that grow in the Mid-Atlantic region. Common plant diseases, insects, plant issues, and species selection will also be discussed. After enrolling in New Jersey Tree Academy, participants will walk away with the confidence to pick that perfect tree for their next landscape project.
